THE LATEST: Reese’s investment firm launched a new vertical within its investment banking and corporate finance unit in October focused on health care royalty monetization. Imperial made several personnel additions early this year, including Brian Ruttenbur in the firm’s defense, government services and cyber security business line, and Steve Madsen in its investment grade sales and trading business.
BACKGROUND: Before Reese co-founded Imperial Capital Group with Randall Wooster, he worked in distressed real estate transactions, high-yield securities and leveraged buyouts as a principal with Gordon Investment Corp. His earlier banking career also included work at at Paine Webber in New York. Imperial Capital Group is a financial services holding company that includes registered broker-dealer divisions in the United States and London. The U.S. division has offices in several cities, including Los Angeles and New York. Reese holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Yale University where he also serves as a member of the steering committee for the institution’s capital campaign.
