THE LATEST: Under Kim’s leadership, CBB Bank focused on supporting small business clients and communities facing challenging times due to the pandemic. The bank also acquired Honolulu-based Ohana Pacific Bank, which it anticipates will be a significant source of core deposits and a strong addition to its loan portfolio.
BACKGROUND: The president and chief executive of Commonwealth Business Bank since 2011, Kim previously helmed Wilshire State Bank and its holding company. Before that, she was an executive vice president and chief lending officer at Wilshire Bancorp. She also served as senior vice president and branch manager at Hanmi Bank. A native of Seoul, Kim’s parents fled to South Korea from North Korea during the war in the 1950s. Kim has a bachelor’s degree in English literature and language from Korea University in Seoul.
