THE LATEST:
Sweeney’s team, which provides credit, treasury management, deposit and other products and services to L.A.-area businesses, includes 350 bankers. It serves the Los Angeles coastal, metro and Valley markets, as well as Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. His bank, which has the largest workforce among U.S. banks, encouraged its employees to get vaccinated against Covid-19 early this year and offered workers paid time off to do so.
BACKGROUND:
Sweeney’s team focuses on emerging-to-middle-market companies, as well as mid-corporate businesses. It services companies in a range of sectors, including food, beverage and agribusiness; investor real estate; technology; defense and aerospace; and entertainment finance. He joined Wells Fargo from Wachovia Bank, where he was a director of the Western banking group. Sweeney is on the boards of the Friends of Expo Center and the California Art Club.
