Maria Salinas — Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce
Chief Executive and President
THE LATEST:
The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce is the largest business association in L.A. County, representing more than 235,000 businesses across the region. Salinas guides the chamber’s efforts to ensure small businesses have access to the resources needed to survive and thrive during the pandemic. The organization also champions new ways to address the deep-seated problem of homelessness in the region.
BACKGROUND:
Entrepreneur and businesswoman Salinas became the first woman and first Latina to lead the L.A. Area Chamber in its 132-year history in 2018. She oversees the chamber’s initiative, A Thriving Region for All, which seeks to amplify the voice of businesses while encouraging an inclusive economy. Salinas is part of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Commission on the Future of Work and was named to his Business and Jobs Recovery Task Force. She was appointed to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Committee of 100.
