THE LATEST: Pizarro oversees Fortune 500 company Edison International and its subsidiaries, Southern California Edison and Edison Energy. In 2020, SCE made substantial progress on its comprehensive wildfire mitigation strategy. Since the end of 2018, the strategy has reduced the risk of wildfires associated with utility infrastructure despite a record-setting California wildfire season last year. SCE has also made significant progress toward resolving pending wildfire-related litigation.
BACKGROUND: Pizarro has been CEO and president of Edison International since 2016. Before that, he was president of Southern California Edison for two years. Pizarro joined Edison International in 1999, moved to SCE in 2001 and progressed through several leadership roles before joining Edison Mission Energy from 2011 until 2014. Previously, Pizarro was a senior engagement manager with McKinsey & Co. in Los Angeles providing management consulting services to energy, technology, engineering services and banking clients.
