Jeffrey Mezger — KB Home
Chairman and Chief Executive
THE LATEST:
In April, KB Home opened two home projects in Las Vegas, along with projects in Folsom, Seattle, Denver and Jacksonville, Fla. In its fiscal 2020 ending in November, KB Home completed 10,672 homes nationwide, generating $4.17 billion in revenue. The company ended fiscal 2020 with a home construction backlog of nearly $3 billion, a 63% increase over 2019. In a December blog post, Mezger said the Covid-19 pandemic has increased demand for homes though supply shortages persist. The mismatch of demand and supply should fuel the homebuilding market for the next several years, Mezger said.
BACKGROUND:
Mezger joined KB Homes in 1993 and has helped develop the homebuilding company’s strategy to focus on energy-efficient and environmentally conscious designs. A graduate of DePauw University, Mezger served 10 years as president of the Central California division of U.S. Home before joining KB Home. Mezger was the founding chairman of the Leading Builders of America. He was inducted into the California Homebuilding Hall of Fame in 2012.
