Lara Poloni — AECOM
President
THE LATEST:
Poloni ascended to the role of president of engineering and infrastructure giant AECOM in August as Troy Rudd took over as chief executive. She was also placed in charge of the company’s design and consulting services business, which makes up the bulk of AECOM’s $13 billion annual revenue. Just as she was leaving her prior post as CEO of AECOM’s operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the division won a major contract in Britain to provide ground assessment services for the third phase of a 14.3-mile, $7 billion highway tunnel project.
BACKGROUND:
Poloni joined AECOM in 2006, later becoming CEO of the company’s Australia/New Zealand business and then CEO of its operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Before that, she was an executive at Maunsell Property Consultants in Sydney. Poloni obtained a BA in geography from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, and a graduate diploma in urban planning and policy from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
