President
THE LATEST:
In September, Loyola Marymount ranked No. 66 among national higher education institutions by U.S. News & World Report. The school also placed No. 6 among private colleges in California and in the top five among Jesuit universities nationally. Last year, the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation named LMU the Education Partner of 2020 for achievement in advancing higher education for the Latino community. The university has also added several new buildings to its Westchester campus over the past year, including a new pavilion for the School of Film and Television, the new Drollinger Family Stage for outdoor performances and two new residence halls.
BACKGROUND:
Snyder joined Loyola Marymount as president in 2015. Previously he served as vice president for academic affairs at Loyola University Maryland. He also has served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Fairfield University in Connecticut and as dean of science at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Snyder’s fields of academic research include computational mathematics, data structures, design and analysis of algorithms, geometric probability, digital signal processing, airline flight safety, and HIV diagnosis and prevention.
