THE LATEST: In November, Danhakl’s private equity firm acquired Service Logic, the biggest independent provider of aftermarket repair services for the commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment market. The acquisition came nearly a year after Leonard Green closed its eighth flagship fund in 2019. Leonard Green Equity Investors VIII, a $12 billion vehicle, is one of the largest single private equity funds in Los Angeles. Last fall, Danhakl’s firm made a strategic investment in eyeglass retailer Eyemart Express and sold CPA Global to Clarivate PLC, an intellectual property warehouse for law firms and corporate customers.
BACKGROUND: Leonard Green & Partners has invested in more than 90 companies since the firm was founded in 1989. Danhakl joined the firm in 1995. Previously he spent five years as a managing director in the L.A. office of Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp. From 1985 to 1990, he was a vice president in corporate finance at Drexel Burnham Lambert Group Inc. Danhakl serves on the boards of Advantage Solutions, Charter NEX and Insight Global, among others.
