Todd Boehly — Eldridge Industries
Chief Executive and Chairman
THE LATEST:
Eldridge Industries has jumped on the special-purpose acquisition company bandwagon. One of the firm’s SPACs, Horizon Acquisition Corp. II, is in advanced talks to buy Swiss gambling data company Sportradar. Another, Horizon Acquisition Corp., raised $544 million last August to focus on purchasing a financial technology firm. According to Bloomberg, the SPAC may be in advanced talks to acquire Vivid Seats, a digital ticketing marketplace that competes with StubHub.
BACKGROUND:
Eldridge Industries is a private equity firm that operates a portfolio of businesses across several industries, including media, sports, real estate development and hospitality. Founded in 2015 by Boehly and Anthony D. Minella, its portfolio companies include the St. James Group, Elliott Bay and Aurify Brands. Prior to Eldridge, Boehly was president of Guggenheim Partners, where he launched a credit investing business and later assumed responsibilities for the asset-management business. Boehly has an ownership stake in the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Sparks. He received his BA in business administration from the College of William & Mary and studied at the London School of Economics.
