THE LATEST: Eskenazi is actively representing Horror Inc., owner and producer of the “Friday the 13th” film franchise, in a case against Victor Miller, writer of the original screenplay, who filed a notice of termination of copyright. She also serves as outside general counsel for the Bob Marley estate.
BACKGROUND: Eskenazi is a partner in Greenberg Glusker’s Entertainment Litigation practice and regularly handles high-profile media disputes. Her work covers royalties and profit participations, defamation and reputation protection, invasion of privacy, trademarks, merchandise and licensing, music distribution, and publishing. She is on the board of Women in Film and helped create the organization’s sexual harassment help line. Eskenazi has served on Greenberg Glusker’s management committee for the past 15 years. She teaches a course in entertainment law at Stanford Law School and is an annual guest lecturer at Harvard Law School.
