THE LATEST: Considered one of the town’s top entertainment lawyers, Petrocelli was named the 2020 Litigator of the Year by American Lawyer while the Daily Journal placed him on its Lawyers of the Decade list. Since 2019, he has pursued multiple employee poaching lawsuits against Netflix Inc. on behalf of companies such as ViacomCBS Inc., Activision Blizzard Inc. and Fox Corp.
BACKGROUND: Perhaps best known for his $33.5 million win in a civil case against O.J. Simpson, Petrocelli is chairman of O’Melveny’s trial practice committee and a vice chairman of the firm. He has represented clients in sports, entertainment, intellectual property, unfair competition, business torts, securities, employment law and criminal defense.
