THE LATEST: In 2020, Hueston was the co-lead trial counsel representing Amazon.com Inc. managers in a two-week trial in which eBay Inc. accused the company of trying to poach its sellers. Hueston obtained a complete defense judgment for Amazon, nullifying the claim against the company. He also is the president of the Social Justice Legal Foundation’s board. In January, he was named one of the Daily Journal’s Top Lawyers of the Decade.
BACKGROUND: Hueston, who founded Hueston Hennigan with Brian Hennigan in 2015, earned acclaim in the U.S. Attorney’s office when he served as co-lead prosecutor in the case against executives at Enron Corp. He also secured a $5.15 billion settlement after a 2012 trial on behalf of the Tronox Trust against Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and Kerr-McGee Corp. for environmental liabilities. Hueston’s clients have included Bill Koch, Elon Musk, Alec Baldwin and Fortune 500 companies such as as Amazon, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Caltech.
