THE LATEST: Zomorodi is a transactional tax partner who focuses on mergers and acquisitions for media companies, REITS, private equity funds, investment banks and public financings. She has been part of several high-value deals in 2021, including a $2 billion merger of bitcoin mining company Bitfury Group, a SPAC public offering backed by private equity firm Thoma Bravo that brought in $900 million, and a merger between San Diego-based Realty Income Corp. and Phoenix-based Vereit Inc. which created a $50 billion REIT.
BACKGROUND: Zomorodi guided Virgin Galactic in its merger with Social Capital Hedosophia in 2019, creating the world’s first publicly traded aerospace company dedicated to consumer spaceflight. In 2017, she advised Entercom Communications Corp. in its merger with CBS Radio, a deal worth $4 billion, producing the second-largest radio company in the United States. She has several multibillion-dollar deals under her belt, including assisting Ares Capital Corp. in its $3.4 billion acquisition of American Capital in 2017. She has a BA and JD from the University of Florida and an LLM from NYU.
