THE LATEST: Rutter was ranked on The Best Lawyers in America list in August. He represents the Grand Avenue Joint Powers Authority in negotiations with Related Cos. of New York, which is developing the Frank Gehry-designed mixed-use project under construction on Bunker Hill.
BACKGROUND: Rutter represents clients in real estate and general business transactions, including development, financing, leasing, acquisition and disposition of office, hotel, retail, mixed-use and industrial properties, as well as business formation, private equity investments and general business transactions. Prior to Cozen O’Connor, Rutter was an executive vice president, president, and then co-chief operating officer and general counsel at a publicly held real estate investment trust. Before that, he co-founded Gilchrist & Rutter, where he practiced from 1983 until 2006.
