William Capps — Jeffer Mangels Butler & Mitchell

THE LATEST:
In 2020, Capps helped resolve long-standing litigation involving a large property in Oakland by positioning the properties for sale by a specially selected sales manager. Capps also sold game app Slap Kings to Palo Alto-based Lion Studios for Turkish developer Gameguru Advertisement FZC; helped resolve a property dispute in Thailand; and represented an insurance company in the sale of properties in the Midwest. Last year, Capps also worked with clients to navigate the pandemic, helping them classify as essential businesses in order to remain open during safer-at-home orders.
BACKGROUND:
Capps has represented prominent families in Southern California in matters of business and personal and succession planning. He has also worked with nonprofits and Fortune 500 companies in all aspects of complex transactions. In addition, Capps has represented the building materials industry and has been involved with strategic litigation management for major disputes. Capps earned a BA from Whittier College and a JD from UC Berkeley Law School. He previously served as chairman of Interlaw Ltd., an international referral network comprising 75 law firms in more than 125 cities around the world.
