Steven Roth — World Oil Corp.
Co-Chief Executive
THE LATEST:
Steven Roth manages World Oil’s real estate assets, including marine terminals and large infill development sites. In 2020 the company sold 40 acres of land in Central California to Adventist Health Bakersfield for $11 million. The property sits across World Oil’s 220-acre Bakersfield Commons mixed-use project, which has been in the works since 2010 and is set to break ground in late 2021. It will feature spaces for retail, entertainment, dining, offices, and health care.
BACKGROUND:
Roth’s father, Bernard, launched World Oil in 1938 when he opened his first gas station in South Central Los Angeles. Steven Roth stepped into the family business in earnest after a successful career in entertainment. Together with his brother Robert, he owns World Oil Corp. and its 16 affiliated and six non-affiliated entities, including World Oil Recycling, World Oil Refining (a producer of asphalt products) and World Oil Environmental Services.
