Alan Bergman — Walt Disney Studios
Chairman
THE LATEST:
After sharing co-chairman duties with Alan Horn at Walt Disney Studios since 2019, Bergman stepped up as the studio’s sole chairman in December as part of a long-planned transition at the top. Horn remains at the studio in the role of chief creative officer, managing content created by Disney’s film and television properties. Bergman, who is responsible for worldwide theatrical and streaming content produced by Disney, reports directly to Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Bob Chapek.
BACKGROUND:
Bergman has been with Disney since 1996, beginning as a director in the corporate controllership group. He was named president of Walt Disney Studios in 2005 and was instrumental in integrating the studio’s major acquisitions, including Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm. Bergman was promoted to co-chairman in 2019, two months after Disney completed its $71.3 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business economics from UCLA.
