THE LATEST: In December, Horn stepped back from his position as co-chairman of Walt Disney Studios but he continues in the role of chief creative officer for the studio. Horn became chairman of Disney’s film studio in 2012, and in 2019 he was named co-chairman along with Alan Bergman as part of a planned transition of power at the top. Bergman is now sole chairman at Walt Disney Studios.
BACKGROUND: Horn presided over Disney’s integration of Lucasfilm in 2012 and guided the combination of film and television properties from 21st Century Fox following Disney’s $71.3 billion acquisition in 2019. Horn also oversees content production for Disney’s streaming services, including the hit Disney Plus platform. Prior to Disney, Horn served as president and chief operating officer at Warner Bros. Entertainment.
