Kathleen Kennedy — Lucasfilm Ltd.
President
THE LATEST:
Lucasfilm’s “The Mandalorian” series was watched for 14.5 billion minutes by viewers in 2020, providing new streaming service Disney Plus with a major jumpstart in its efforts to catch rivals Netflix Inc. and Amazon.com Inc.’s Amazon Prime. In December, Kennedy announced that 10 new “Star Wars” series were in the works.
BACKGROUND:
Kennedy’s first film as a producer was the 1982 hit “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” and her credits include “Jurassic Park” and “The Sixth Sense.” Before joining Lucasfilm, Kennedy headed Kennedy/Marshall Co., which she founded in 1992 with director Frank Marshall. In 1981, she co-founded Amblin Entertainment with Marshall and Steven Spielberg. Kennedy serves on the boards of the American Film Institute, L.A. Promise Fund, Library of America and USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. She was an organizer of the Hollywood Commission for Eliminating Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality.
