Michael Rapino — Live Nation Entertainment Inc.
Chief Executive
THE LATEST:
In December, Live Nation announced plans to sell $500 million worth of secured senior notes in a private offering. And in January, the company acquired Veeps, a ticketed livestream company based in Glendale. Despite pandemic-induced revenue losses over the past year, Live Nation’s stock price has nearly doubled since May 2020.
BACKGROUND:
In May, Rapino told analysts that ticket demand for 2021 shows was surging, propelled by increasing vaccination rates and more countries reopening for live events. He added that shows and major festivals, including Bonnaroo and Electric Daisy, were selling out in record time. Rapino has served as Live Nation’s president and chief executive since 2005. He led the transformation of Live Nation into a live music brand with operations in more than 40 countries. In a normal year, the company stages some 40,000 shows and 100 festivals and sells 500 million tickets.
