Philip Holthouse — Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt
Partner
THE LATEST:
Net revenues increased 6% at Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt in 2020, primarily because of increased tax consulting fees associated with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and the CARES Act. The firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice, despite a slowdown in the second quarter, saw a strengthening market in late 2020. Holthouse Carlin & Van Trigt’s state and local tax practice was strengthened by the addition of a partner from the Big 4 to lead the growing practice. The firm has nearly 700 employees across 13 offices.
BACKGROUND:
Holthouse has more than 30 years of experience as a tax professional with a client list that covers real estate, private equity, professional services and high-net-worth individuals. He is a member of the MBT Board of Advisors for the Leventhal School of Accounting at USC. Holthouse got his start in accounting at KPMG. He received a master’s degree in taxation and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from USC as well as a law degree from Loyola Law School.
