Sean Smith — Keenan

THE LATEST: In addition to serving as CEO for Keenan, Smith was named president of AssuredPartners’ West, Mountain West and specialty regions in 2021. (Torrance-based Keenan joined the AssuredPartners’ family of companies in 2017.) This increased role allows Smith to coordinate with other AP agency presidents to expand and enhance the insurance and risk management solutions that AP agencies provide to clients.
BACKGROUND: Smith joined Keenan in 1989 after working at Anthem Blue Cross and Prudential Insurance. He introduced and championed several companywide corporate social-responsibility initiatives, including Keenan’s volunteer time-off policy that allows employees paid time off to volunteer for a charity of their choosing; Impact Day, when Keenan employees participate in group projects throughout the state; and the Right Start mentoring program.
