John Cushman III — Cushman & Wakefield Inc.
Chairman of Global Transactions
THE LATEST:
Cushman is a world-renowned commercial real estate veteran and grandson of Cushman & Wakefield’s founder. He serves as chairman of global transactions for the firm, where he creates national and international strategic policies and initiatives for the Chicago-based company. Cushman & Wakefield has 50,000 employees in more than 400 offices and 60 countries. Last year, the firm generated $7.8 billion in revenue.
BACKGROUND:
Cushman has been in the real estate business for more than 50 years. He began his career with Cushman & Wakefield in 1963 in New York. In 1967, he moved to L.A. to open the company’s first office in Southern California. John and his twin, Louis Cushman, started their own firm in 1978 called Cushman Realty Corp. It grew to more than 2,000 employees before merging with Cushman & Wakefield Inc. in 2001. In 2015, Cushman & Wakefield merged with DTZ.
