Rick Caruso — Caruso
Founder and Chief Executive
THE LATEST:
Real estate developer Caruso runs his namesake company, which has created some of L.A. County’s most noteworthy retail centers, including The Grove and The Americana. The company’s compound annual growth rate is 20% since it was founded in 1987. In 2019, Caruso opened his first hotel, the Rosewood Miramar Beach resort. He is currently working on 333 La Cienega, a mixed-use, 145-unit apartment building near the Beverly Center.
BACKGROUND:
Caruso is known for developing high-end retail centers. One of his most recent is the Palisades Village in Pacific Palisades. Caruso is also a philanthropist and community leader. He is chairman of the board of trustees at USC, chairman at Loyola High School and sits on the boards at Pepperdine School of Law, Irvine Co., Providence St. John’s Medical Center and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation. He and his wife, Tina, founded the Caruso Family Foundation in 1991 to help at-risk children.
