Partner
THE LATEST:
One of Kutcher’s early portfolio companies, Airbnb Inc., went public at the end of 2020, giving the former TV star one of his highest profile exits. In November, Sound Ventures began raising its third fund, with a $150 million target. Kutcher’s firm has made investments in more than 100 companies, including unicorns like Bird Rides Inc., Calm.com Inc. and insurance startup Lemonade Inc., which went public in January.
BACKGROUND:
Kutcher has made a successful transition from actor to venture capitalist. He was an early investor in Uber Technologies Inc., Skype and Airbnb. Kutcher co-founded A-Grade Investments in 2010 with entertainment executive Guy Oseary and billionaire investor Ron Burkle. In 2015, Kutcher and Oseary launched Sound Ventures. Kutcher began his career as a model before joining the Fox sitcom “That ’70s Show.” He has since starred in numerous films.
