THE LATEST: Santa Monica-based Naughty Dog has for more than a decade been a driving force behind the success of Sony Corp.’s PlayStation consoles, and the game publisher’s latest title, “The Last of Us Part II,” took home Game of the Year honors at the 2020 Game Awards. Now, HBO is developing a television adaptation of the popular post-apocalyptic series.
BACKGROUND: Wells has been co-president at Naughty Dog since 2005 and joined the studio in 1998 after serving as a lead designer at game developer Crystal Dynamics. Under Wells’ leadership, Naughty Dog developed and released the popular “Uncharted” and “Last of Us” series, both among the best-selling series for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles.
