Mahi de Silva — Triller Network
Chief Executive
THE LATEST:
Triller announced in April that de Silva would become the company’s new CEO, replacing co-founder Mike Lu. The move comes amid a period of rapid expansion for the social media company and TikTok rival, which acquired rap battle platform Verzuz in March. De Silva took on the role of Triller CEO after the company purchased his company, Amplify.AI. Triller also acquired pay-per-view platform Fite in April, and in the last year has launched boxing broadcasting service Triller Fight Club and a streaming platform called TrillerTV.
BACKGROUND:
De Silva began his career at Apple Inc. and later served as a senior vice president at VeriSign Inc. prior to becoming chief executive of AdMarvel, which was purchased by Opera Software in 2010. De Silva later led Opera’s mobile advertising division, Opera Mediaworks. In 2016, he co-founded Amplify.AI, the developer of an artificial intelligence-based consumer engagement platform. De Silva also sits on the boards of multiple companies, including Brentwood-based Nanotech Energy Inc.
