Robert Kyncl — YouTube
Chief Business Officer
THE LATEST:
In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, YouTube expanded fact-checking efforts to prioritize authoritative sources and minimize misinformation. Kyncl oversaw these efforts, as well as the company’s response to nationwide protests against police violence, encouraging employees to take time away from work to think about how to improve racial equity. In January, YouTube announced a new fund to support Black content creators.
BACKGROUND:
Kyncl has been at YouTube since 2010 and oversees commercial, creative and content partnerships for the Alphabet Inc.-owned streaming video platform. He was previously vice president of content at Netflix Inc., where he oversaw content acquisition for the streaming company. Kyncl graduated from SUNY New Paltz and received an MBA from Pepperdine University.
