THE LATEST: Insomniac has long been a key part of the success of Sony’s PlayStation consoles, and that continued in 2020 with the release of “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales,” a title exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. Despite its November release date, the game was one of the top-selling titles of the year.
BACKGROUND: Price founded Insomniac Games in 1994, and the company quickly became one of the most successful independent developers in the video game industry, responsible for the popular “Spyro” and “Ratchet & Clank” series. Insomniac was acquired by Sony in 2019 in a deal worth $229 million.
